English-Conjunctions

Oh, joy!! Not only does my English program (Scott Foresman) teach conjunctions (which my 6th graders STILL forget), but I have to teach the breakdown of them:

COORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS and SUBORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS

FUN-FUN-FUN-FUN-FUN-FUN!!!! 🙂

So, today we made a t-chart to sort of give them a visual aid. Then we practiced in our workbook(if anybody has another idea of practicing them in authentic text PLEASE let me know!!!). Tomorrow I am going to show them the grammar schoolhouse rock video about conjunctions. It is available on youtube, but since we can’t use youtube during school I have downloaded it and converted it into a REAL Player video. Here is the link to the youtube video. You can download the youtube converter program (it is free) and use it to convert your videos! 🙂
