Daily Grammar Practice

I just found this great resource for teaching grammar on a daily basis. I feel like I have spent too much time on grammar each day with no real benefit-they don’t remember it, and they certainly don’t apply it to their writing like I want them to. So…….I am going to shorten the amount of time I spend on it each day so that more time can be devoted to reading and writing. Here is the model that I want to follow-I am trying it out with my kids this week and next.

The idea is to use only 1 sentence for the whole week, but you do something different with that sentence each day. Check it out and let me know what you think. It only took us about 5 minutes yesterday and today for them to copy the sentence from the board and work with it-I let them work in groups or partners or by themselves-their choice.
