  1. I love the powerpoints, they keep my lesson focused and the students are actively engaged. Are there any more for other stories?

  2. I just stumbled onto this site and am wondering if I might speak to someone about Reading Cafe and how to fit all of this in to a 50 minute class period. Any suggestions?

    • Cathi-

I don’t want to burst your bubble, but I stopped doing CAFE back in October, but this is why. At our school, everyone uses the basal and that’s what the kids and parents are used to. They are not used to thinking, reading independently and thinking, etc. So I found that I felt like I was beating my own head against the wall and getting nowhere. I gave it up.

I’m not sure how to fit it into a 50 minute period-time is what works against all of us. I wish I could help you more. Sorry! You might want to try and look on The Two Sisters website and see if they have a answer for that!!! Hope you are doing well!

  3. Thank you for responding!

  4. I just want to thank you SO MUCH for having this online. My daughter frequently forgets/loses her spelling and this way I can still have her practice!
    Thank you!!!! :-)~

  5. Hey Can You put the think critically questions and answers ???

None of my students can complete them Thx 🙂

    • I’m not sure why I’m just now seeing this!! Sorry! I no longer teach 6th grade reading, so I don’t have access to any of that anymore. 😦
