  1. Thank you so much for this website! I have been searching for something this for the past three years. I teach 6th grade reading and language arts as well. Do you use any trade books to supplement?

    • This past year was my 1st year in 6th grade so I was just getting my feet wet! 🙂 I read aloud 3 chapter books to them, but didn’t use any “picture” children’s literature with them. That is definitely something I am going to change for this upcoming year. I am reading several professional books this summer and will be posting some stuff this month that might be helpful for you-right now I am in Chicago and won’t be back until Wednesday-7/6. I’m glad you have found my blog useful-keep checking-I’m going to add more stuff this month! 🙂

  2. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I’ve been moved to 6th grade reading from a 4th grade self-contained class. I can’t get into my new room for another 3 weeks. I’ve been going CRAZY! Now I can develop a pacing guide and get organized! Bless you!

    • I’m so glad you found something that helps!! 🙂 If you need anything else, just let me know!!!

  3. Do you know anyone who has done a blog/page like this for the NEW Common Core Standards (CCRS) for the NEW Reading Street curriculum? The one that has the new stories (Hachiko instead of Crowbar, etc).
    Thanks!!

    • Myla,

I don’t know of anyone who has, but wouldn’t it be nice? Our school is still using the 2008 version-the one that’s not common core aligned! And I’m using the reading workshop model and not using RS. Sorry I can’t help you out! 🙂
